GAROT: A five-year old girl was admitted to Quaidabad tehsil headquarters hospital on Saturday with symptoms of polio. Doctors at the hospital said the child, a resident of Karkunwala, was brought to the hospital by her father Atta Muhammad who said the girl had been unable to walk for over a week. They said she also had mild flu-like symptoms and had headaches. Doctors said her tests had been sent to a lab in Islamabad to determine if she did indeed have polio. Her father said she had not been vaccinated against polio. He said polio vaccination teams had not visited the area. On the other hand, Health EDO Dr Muhammad Ishaq Kamboh said the girl had been vaccinated and vaccination teams had given her family a vaccination card.
