Friendship: Closer ties with India key to peace says CM

Sharif and Basit reviewed relations between India and Pakistan.

LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Friday cordial Pakistan-India relations were must for peace in the region. Speaking to Pakistani High Commissioner in India Abdul Basit, the chief minister said the two countries should resolve Kashmir and water issues through dialogue. Sharif and Basit reviewed relations between India and Pakistan. They also discussed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s recent visit to India. Separately, the chief minister ordered a probe into the death of a sanitary worker during the de-silting of a manhole on Bedian Road.
