Promoting healthy activities: Three-day Margalla Sports Festival kicks off

The tournaments are being held at different grounds situated in different sectors of the city.

A three-day Margalla Sports Festival kicked off with a colourful cultural show along with march-past by the participating teams at the National Cricket Stadium here on Tuesday evening.


Member, Engineering of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Shahid Sohail inaugurated the festival.

Director General Sports and Culture and other senior officers of the authority attended the opening ceremony held at National Cricket Stadium, F-7.

Cricket teams of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Military Accountant General, Boots Pharmacy, Zarai Taraqiati Bank (ZTBL), Pakistan Telecommunications Company (PTCL), University of Sargodha and others are participating in the festival. Besides cricket, tournaments of rugby, lawn tennis, and football would also be played during the festival.

CDA Chairman Maroof Afzal has directed the organisers to ensure maximum participation of the youth in the ongoing festival to promote healthy activities.
