Crackdown to begin: All hands on deck to improve city’s traffic problems

Commissioner office to join hands with naval, traffic and district police.

Commissioner Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui said that the city administration will cooperate with the naval police, the traffic police and the district police to improve traffic management on the main thoroughfares in the city.

In a meeting on Wednesday, he also said that awareness billboards will be installed and traffic lane-marking will be carried out on Dalmia, Gizri, Karsaz, Lucky Star and Sharae Faisal.


Traffic DIG Arif Hanif, additional commissioner Muhammad Aslam Khoso, South deputy commissioner Mustafa Jamal Qazi, Pakistan navy commander Rizwan Ahmed, East additional deputy commissioner Syed Junaid Ahemd and some other officials were also present at the meeting. Siddiqui further said that the city administration will launch a crackdown with the help of the Rangers, the police and the district police against those vehicles that are parked on the road as they disrupt the flow of traffic. He said action is also to be taken against those vehicles with tinted windows and blue lights and those that flaunt their ‘green’ number plates.
