Targeted: Three young men killed in Karachi

KARACHI: At least three people were shot dead in separate acts of targeted killings in the city on Tuesday. 

A 35-year-old man, Shahzad Kareem, was shot dead in Orangi Town. Mominabad police station SHO Zahid Hussain said that the deceased was a Port Qasim employee and also used to run his own business. The officer added that armed motorcyclists shot and killed him, apparently over a refusal to pay extortion money, while he was on his way to work.

Meanwhile, a rickshaw driver identified as 30-year-old Naseerullah, son of Hikmat Gul, was shot dead within the limits of Jamshed Quarters police station. Police officials said that the deceased was a resident of Nazimabad and armed motorcyclists shot and killed him over personal enmity while he was standing at an intercity bus stop to go to his hometown, Peshawar.

Separately, a young man who has yet to be identified was shot dead in the Shah Baig Lane area of Baghdadi, Lyari. SHO Haq Nawaz said that the deceased was shot and killed by armed motorcyclists. However, the motive behind the killing has yet to be ascertained. The body of the deceased was moved to the Edhi morgue for identification after medico-legal formalities were completed at Civil hospital.
