The police on Monday booked a man for killing his wife and two daughters. The three bodies were recovered on Sunday from their house in Tahli Mori in the Civil Lines area.
Khurshid, the 16-year old brother of the deceased woman — Rubina — filed an application nominating his brother-in-law, Malik Pervaiz alias Naeem, Pervaiz’s sister Khalida, and his second wife Sumaira, for the deaths of Rubina and their daughters Rida, 9, and Maimona, 6.
Pervaiz is already in custody.
According to the police, Pervaiz had secretly married Sumaira, who was living in a rented house in the Tench area. After Rubina learnt about Naeem’s second marriage, she started fighting him.
“Naeem would often beat her and wanted to bring his second wife to the house where my sister was living,” said Khurshid.
He said Naeem had transferred the house to Rubina and their daughters’ names before the second marriage, and now wanted to transfer it back to his own name.
“Rubina and her daughters were at our (her parents’) house on Saturday. Naeem took them back to Tahli Mori on Saturday night around 11pm and the next day tomorrow we received a call about the incident,” he said.
He said when they reached the main gate of Pervaiz’s house, the door was locked.
He added when they finally got inside, they found Rubina hanging from a fan and his nieces on a bed in a pool of blood with a pistol lying on the floor.
Investigation officer Assistant Sub-Inspector Safdar said Naeem confirmed that an FIR has been registered against Pervaiz, his sister and his second wife.
