Tragic turn: One killed in road mishap
The injured were identified as Amjad, Afsar, Tahir, Zahir and Masood.

A man was killed and five others were injured on Sunday when a passenger coach fell into the flooded Bara River on Canal Road. The spokesperson for Rescue 1122 Bilal Faizi told The Express Tribune the accident took place due to the driver’s negligence. Sahib Khan tried to drive the vehicle over the bridge which was already inundated from the flooded river. Thus, the coach fell in the water. “Khan’s body was fished out of the river while five other people were rescued and shifted to Lady Reading Hospital (LRH),” said Faizi. The injured were identified as Amjad, Afsar, Tahir, Zahir and Masood. Their condition was said to be stable. The rescue team was finally able to pull the vehicle out of the water after two hours.
