A parliamentary panel expressed displeasure with the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination (NHSRC) for not heeding to its directives related to the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) and the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan.

A parliamentary panel expressed displeasure with the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination (NHSRC) for not heeding to its directives related to the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) and the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan.
The NA Standing Committee on NHSRC met on Friday and asked the NHSRC to explain why it had not removed the PMDC registrar in spite of repeated reminders for his dismissal.
The members warned NHSRC that it would stop convening further meetings if its authority was undermined. “It seems the ministry is not taking our recommendations seriously. It is giving the impression that it is challenging the standing committee’s authority”, said committee chair Khalid Hussain Magsi.
NHSRC minister Saira Afzal Tarar posited that the ministry is making serious efforts to follow the directives but is facing mounting challenges.
