Security Breach: Two police officers seek reinstatement

ISLAMABAD: Two senior officers of the Islamabad Police approached the capital’s high court on Friday to revoke their suspension orders issued for a security breach at the National Assembly last week. National Assembly Superintendent Police (SP) Habibullah Niazi and Headquarters Deputy Superintendent Police (DSP) Muhammad Hussain Lasi filed a petition requesting the Islamabad High Court to revoke their suspension orders, which they said were unjustified. They were suspended on May 23, after Sikh protesters entered Parliament. Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar had suspended SP Niazi, DSP Muhammad Hussain Lasi, Secretariat DSP Fida Hussain, National Assembly DSP Khalid Virk, Bani Gala DSP Safeer Shah, Bhara Kahu SHO Sattar Shah and Secretariat SHO Abdul Rehman for the security lapse.
