Prize bond theft case: Bail applications dismissed

KARACHI:
An anti-corruption court dismissed the bail applications of policemen allegedly involved in the theft of prize bonds of an estimated worth of Rs30 billion.
The judge of the special federal anti-corruption court-I, Mohammad Azeem, dismissed the bail applications of the policemen, Zafar Abbas, Azhar Abbas, Muhammad Bota, Muhammad Riaz, Noor Muhammad, Muhammad Anwar, on Thursday. The police said that the prize bonds were being transported to Karachi on Karachi Express in 10 sealed boxes but one of the boxes containing bonds worth Rs30 million was found missing when the consignment reached Cantt Railway station.
