16-year-old boy tortured for three hours on theft charges

A 16-year-old boy was tortured and beaten for three hours by four men after being accused of theft, Express News reported. 

The victim was picked up from where his workplace and forcefully dragged to his house where he was beaten with rods and electrocuted by the perpetrators.

According to Express News, the neighbours called the police after three hours of the abuse despite hearing the boy's screams the entire time.

When the police arrived at the scene, they found the accused tied up on a bed. He had to be carried to the police car as he could not even walk having sustained serious injuries.

The police arrested three of the perpetrators, while one of them has not yet been arrested. They have been identified as Hashim, his nephew Taufeeq and their friend Agha.


The police have also registered an FIR against the attackers.

Hashim had accused the boy of theft and wanted to teach him a lesson himself without getting the police involved.

"This is the first time I managed to catch someone red-handed, so I decided to punish him," Hashim said when being interviewed by a reporter.

The 16-year-old had been accused of stealing Rs400, but the theft has not been proven, Express News reported.

The victim, who is in critical condition, repeatedly denied the charges and said the attackers refused to listen his pleas and continued to torture him. Further, the victim's mother said she has no hope for justice.
