Emirates posts $925m net profit
The airline’s revenue of $7.2 billion for the half year represented a strong growth of 35.5 per cent.
Emirates has declared a net profit of $925 million (3.4 billion dirhams) for the first six months of its financial year ended on September 30, marking a massive 351.2 per cent increase compared with the $205 million recorded in the same period last year.
The airline’s revenue of $7.2 billion (26.4 billion dirhams), including other operating income, for the half year represented a strong growth of 35.5 per cent.
Highlighting a positive shift in the aviation sector, the carrier has witnessed a marked increase in passenger traffic, carrying 15.5 million passengers and recording a strong passenger seat factor at 81.2 per cent – the highest-ever for a first six-month reporting period, according to an official release.
Meanwhile, Emirates SkyCargo has also seen a strong half-year performance across the network, posting an increase in revenue of 48.4 per cent to 4.4 billion dirhams.
