Suicide: Death-row inmate kills self
Jail authorities claimed that the deceased was mentally unstable.
RAWALPINDI:
A convicted murderer allegedly committed suicide in his cell in Adiala Jail on Saturday morning, jail authorities said. Malik Salahuddin Khan, 40, a resident of Jugyan in Taxila, had allegedly slit his own throat with a knife when he was found by jail officials. He was rushed to District Headquarters Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. Khan had been sentenced to death by a Rawalpindi court after being found guilty of killing his wife in 2006. Jail authorities claimed that the deceased was mentally unstable.
