Targeted attack: Pro-govt militiaman gunned down

JAMRUD: A cleric and member of a pro-government militia in Tirah was gunned down by unidentified militants in Jamrud, Khyber Agency, on Saturday. Ali Sher, an official of the political administration, said Din Gul was on his way home around 10:30 am from Sur Kamar, when two masked men travelling on a motorcycle opened fire at him, killing him on the spot. The official said after the incident, khasadar officials shifted the body to Jamrud Civil Hospital. Gul’s body was then handed over to his family. Gul was an active member of the Kuki Khel pro-government militia. He was also a cleric in Baber Kachkol Jummat area of Tirah Valley before security forces launched an operation there last year.
