Justice served: Three kidnappers sentenced to life imprisonment
The prosecution said that Tayyub was later released after his family had paid Rs1 million.

An anti-terrorism court sentenced on Wednesday three accused to life imprisonment and ordered the confiscation of their moveable and immoveable properties in a kidnapping for ransom case.
The court found Hakim Ali Khoso, Muhammad Yousuf Bugti and Shaukat Ali Brohi guilty of kidnapping a trader, Tayyub, in Gadap Town in 2009 and demanding ransom for his release. The judge, Anandram Sairani, pronounced the verdict after recording the statements of witnesses and listening to the final arguments from both the sides.
According to the prosecution, the men had kidnapped Tayyub from Gadap Town on December 21, 2009, and had demanded Rs5 million for his release. The prosecution said that Tayyub was later released after his family had paid Rs1 million. Subsequently, the Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) had arrested the accused and they were prosecuted for their alleged involvement in the offence, it added.
A case, No.173/09, under Sections 365-A (kidnapping or abducting for extorting property, valuable) and 34 (common intent) of the Pakistan Penal Code, read with Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997, was registered against the men with the AVCC. Following the verdict, the accused were remanded back to police to serve the sentence.
