Senate election: Polls for vacated seat on June 5
The appeal against rejection will be disposed of on May 30.
KARACHI:
The election for the senate seat vacated by Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh after his resignation, will be held on June 5, announced the Election Commission of Pakistan on Tuesday. According to the schedule, candidates can file their nomination papers on May 21 and May 22 from 9am to 4pm to the provincial election commission. The papers will be scrutinised from May 23 to May 26 and any appeal against rejection may be filed on May 27 from 9am to 4pm. The appeal against rejection will be disposed of on May 30. The candidates can withdraw their candidatures by June 2 between 9am to 4pm when the list of the contesting candidates gets published. Polling will be held on June 5 between 9am to 4pm, at the Sindh Assembly building.
