Next generation: SC disposes of 3G licence auction plea
Attorney General for Pakistan contended that auction money is revenue that could be transferred in FCF.
ISLAMABAD:
Disposing of a plea, seeking the completion of 3G licences’ auction process, the Supreme Court has observed that concerned authorities may seek remedy from high court pertaining to the matter about the transfer of money, received from the auction of next generation, to Federal Consolidated Fund (FCF). During the hearing, Attorney General for Pakistan Salman Aslam Butt contended before the three judge bench of the apex court, headed byJustice Jawwad S Khawaja that auction money is revenue that could be transferred in FCF. After the disposal of case, a senior law officer while talking to media says that in view of the court’s observation, the government has been allowed to keep the auction money in FCF.
