Notices issued to Jang Group’s CEO, others

Judge in Abbottabad asks Geo/Jang group’s chief executive, host of morning show to appear before court.

ABBOTABAD: A district judge in Abbottabad on Sunday asked the Geo/Jang group’s chief executive, the host of its morning show, its producers and staff  to appear before the court today (Monday).

Advocate Abdul Rauf Khan had filed an application under section 22-A of the CrPc seeking registration of criminal case against Jang/Geo Group Chief Executive Mir Shakilur Rehman, anchor person Dr Shaista Lodhi, producers, actress Veena Malik, her husband Asad Bashir Khattak and SHO Cantonment Police Station in Abbottabad.

The applicant accused Geo of  airing a highly objectionable content and demanded registration of a case against the respondents. The court has issued notices to all the parties, asking them to appear before the court on Monday.
