At least three people along with a truck were swept away by a flash flood triggered by torrential rains in the Mach area of Bolan district on Saturday. Police couldn’t immediately identify the victims. Separately, Quetta city suffered traffic logjams as rainwater inundated the main arteries leaving commuters, including women and children, trapped in their vehicles for hours. The downpour started in the morning and rainwater flooded all the roads due to choked drains. Rainwater is reported to have entered houses in low-lying areas of the city and the metropolitan corporation remained indifferent as usual and did not mobilise the available equipment in its warehouses to drain out the rainwater.
