Behind bars: Prisoner gives birth to baby girl
Prisoner went in labour on Friday night and jail officials took her to Allied Hospital.

A prisoner under trial for robbery gave birth to a baby girl at Allied Hospital on Friday night. The 22-year-old woman, a resident of Khanqah Dogran, Sheikhupura, and her husband were arrested for robbery by Waryam Wala police in Jhang.
Her husband was arrested and sent to Jhang district jail on judicial remand. Police said early interrogations had revealed that she was complicit with her husband in the robberies. She was arrested on April 2 and sent to Jhang district jail on judicial remand.
She went in labour on Friday night and jail officials took her to Allied Hospital. Allied Hospital Medical Officer Shamim Akhtar said Gulshan Aara had given birth to a baby girl. The child and the mother were both stable, she said.
