Technological Advancement: LUMHS to introduce new biopsy system
LUMHS will be the first in Pakistan to offer biopsy through this new technology, says vice-chancellor.
HYDERABAD:
The Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) announced that the facility of ‘cell-visio optical biopsy system’ will soon be available at the university hospital in Jamshoro. The LUMHS Vice-Chancellor, Dr Noshad Shaikh, said on Wednesday that his varsity hospital will be the first in Pakistan offering biopsy through this technology. The cell-visio is an endomicroscopy system which generates optical biopsies, providing physicians with microscopic images of tissues in a minimally invasive manner. It is helpful during endoscopy procedures and offers a cellular level view of internal tissues to help physicians detect disease in real time.
