PESHAWAR:

Sehat ka Insaf has successfully eradicated poliovirus from the provincial capital, claimed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) provincial spokesperson MNA Aisha Gulalai on Thursday.

In a statement issued from PTI’s provincial media cell, Gulalai said they have now extended the programme to other districts and “soon the entire province will be polio free”.

She said it is their responsibility to provide a healthy environment to the residents of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. “Credit goes to the polio workers and volunteers who played their role in the campaign,” she added.

On May 13, water samples taken from various parts of Pakistan indicated presence of poliovirus in Karachi and Lahore. However, no trace of the virus was found in the samples taken from Peshawar.
