KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) was informed on Tuesday that (retd) General Pervez Musharraf, needs to go abroad to undergo a surgery for his spinal cord problems because the required treatment facilities are not available in the country. Barrister Farogh Naseem disclosed this while pleading the former military ruler’s petition seeking removal of his name from the ECL before a division bench, headed by Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar. He submitted that it is only the domain of the trial court to pass an order for placing the name of the defendant on the exit control list. Therefore, placement of the Pervez Musharraf’s name on the ECL by the federal government is a violation of the provisions of the Constitution. The hearing was adjourned till May 20.
