Voicing concerns: Palijo warns of protests against load-shedding
The QAT leader said the protest movement will start from token sit-ins and demonstrations to blockage of the highways.
HYDERABAD:
Qaumi Awami Tehreek (QAT) president Ayaz Latif Palijo has warned of calling a strike if the federal and provincial governments do not address load-shedding and water shortage issues immediately.
Palijo staged a token sit-in in Qasimabad on Monday evening. The QAT leader blamed the federal government of increasing load-shedding to unprecedented levels.
“The urban areas in the province are facing outages during working hours while the rural parts are being subjected to day-long outages,” he claimed.
He also lambasted the Sindh government for failing to resolve the problem of water shortages in the urban areas.
The QAT leader said the protest movement will start from token sit-ins and demonstrations to blockage of the highways.
He did not, however, announce a date as to when the protests will start.
