Information Minister demands cancelation of all blue passports

Recommendations about accepting passport fee through ATMs were also discussed.

ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid on Monday demanded that all blue passports issued on political basis should be canceled, Radio Pakistan reported.

He also ordered the closing down of all unnecessary passport offices opened during the last government’s tenure.

These decisions were made during a meeting in the Senate Standing Committee on Interior.

The committee meeting was chaired by Senator Talha Mehmood.

During the meeting, Acting Director General Passports and Immigration Muhammad Safdar said that recommendations about accepting passport fee through ATMs are also under consideration.
