Teenagers’ fight: Court dismisses counter FIR plea by SSP Abro’s son

The South district and sessions judge, Ahmed Saba, dismissed an application on Saturday seeking registration of another FIR regarding the May 8 shooting that had killed an O' levels student in DHA.
Eighteen-year-old SL was studying in his house when he was allegedly targeted by Sakrand Training Centre SSP Ghulam Sarwar Abro's son, SA, who came to the Lashari house along with five police constables allegedly to settle an argument.
An FIR, No. 235/2014, was registered by the deceased's brother, Zeeshan Lashari, at the Darakhshan police station against Abro and four of the police constables - Muhammad Rasheed, Yasin, Maqbool and Imran - who had accompanied him. The name of a police constable who had been killed during the exchange of fire, Zaheed Ahmed, was not added in the FIR. On Saturday, Mansoor Abro, who is SA's cousin, filed an application under Section 22-A of the Criminal Procedure Code, seeking registration of a criminal case against SL and his guard.
He alleged SA and the policemen had gone to settle a dispute with SL, when he and his guard attacked them, firing shots that wounded Abro and killed Ahmed. He, therefore, pleaded to the court to order the Darakhshan police station SHO to lodge an FIR against SL and his guard.However, Saba dismissed the plea and directed the applicant to file a direct complaint with the court.
