Snooker: Majid, Akbar flatten opponents in Asian event

Pakistan’s explosive youngsters Mohammad Majid Ali and Hamza Akbar got off to winning starts in their IBSF World U21 Snooker Championship campaign in Al Fujairah, UAE.



Majid made a terrific opening with an emphatic 4-0 win over South Korea’s Daegyu Lee. Such was his dominance in the match that he allowed his opponent to chalk up only 27 points across four frames as he went on to triumph with a scoreline of 87-1, 96-17, 97-0 and 72-0.


Akbar registered a straight-frames win as well, against Canada’s Karam Namek with scores of 64-24, 54-28, 63-36 and 64-42.
