Musician-actor Himesh Reshammiya says he will always be indebted to mentor Salman Khan for his continuous love and support. Salman gave Himesh his first big break in Bollywood and he composed music for his movie Pyaar Kiya Tou Darna Kya.

“He is a legend he is the best brother I can have. I am indebted to him for whatever I am today and the whole Khan family for giving me a break. He is a genius and he knows his job very well,” said Himesh, reported Deccan Chronicle.

Salman and Himesh gave many hit film albums together like Yeh Hai Jalwa, Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge among others. He tasted his first major success as a music director with Salman Khan-starrer Tere Naam (2003). Himesh will also compose music for Salman’s other two upcoming films Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Kick.

“He surprises every year with something new. That is why he is a superstar and will continue to survive for another 50 years. He has the knack to connect with the audience. He is the most lovable star,” he said.

Himesh and Salman had a bit of a rift in between, which became obvious when Salman appeared in a TV reality show and took a jibe at Himesh. However, the two have returned to being friends and the rumoured war is over. In 2011, Himesh and Salman buried the hatchet when Himesh gave music for his film Bodyguard.

On acting front, Himesh seems excited about his upcoming film The Xpose which is slated to release on May 16. “It is a murder mystery set in the film industry of 60s. In 60s, there was a conservative atmosphere in industry but two leading ladies - Zeenat Aman and Praveen Babi - came forward in a bold avatar and it changed the whole scenario,” Himesh said.

Acting success may have eluded Himesh Reshamiya till now, but the composer-turned-singer- turned-actor says he is serious this time and has really worked hard for his upcoming film. Himesh, 40, started his Bollywood journey as a composer and has churned out hit film music albums. He ventured into playback singing and gave several major hits, although his detractors criticised him for his nasal voice.
