KARACHI: Sakrand Training Centre SSP Ghulam Sarwar Abro's son himself shot Suleman Lashari, an O’ level student who was killed in Karachi earlier this May, claimed one of the arrested police officers allegedly involved in the murder, Express News reported on Saturday.

On May 9, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) had sent four police officials on physical-custody remand for their alleged involvement in the murder. It was also reported that the SSP was becoming an obstacle in the investigation process.

The murder

An 18-year-old student of O’ Levels was shot dead at 2am on May 8 while he was studying in his balcony. The young man was allegedly targeted by the SSP's son, Salman Abro, who came to Suleman's house along with five police constables to settle an argument.

The guards deployed at Suleman’s house had retaliated and the victim’s brother Zeeshan had also joined in after getting his weapon from his room.

Salman was also injured in the exchange of fire and one of his police guards, constable Zaheer Ahmed, was killed. Salman is critically injured and is currently admitted at Ziauddin Hospital. The incident had also left Suleman’s guard, Ali Bugti, injured.

An FIR No. 235/2014 has been registered by the deceased’s brother at the Darakhshan police station against Salman and the four police constables – Muhammad Rasheed, Yasin, Maqbool and Imran  – who accompanied him. The name of the deceased police constable has not been added in the FIR, which includes Sections 302, 324 and Anti-Terrorim Act Section seven. The four surviving policemen are in police custody while Salman will be arrested when he recovers from his injuries. The police have also seized the Vigo and the weapons.

Taking action against SSP

On May 9, the police department had decided to initiate legal action against Salman's father after his son was booked for murder.

Based on the initial reports, the police officials had asked their superiors to take action against the SSP for misusing state resources.

An inquiry team had been constituted to investigate SSP Abro and was ordered to submit its report within three days.

While people here are right with their demand for justice , let me add a very important point to this thread, with the enquiry in its most crucial phase the authorities fail to question the absence of a very important eye witness the person has been responsible for asking Salman Abro to come along with guards while provoking Suleman Lashari at the same time to be mentally prepared for things to go wrong .. With that being said and Lashari provoked enough as soon as Abro's Vigo stopped infront of the car, it was Lashari himself who initiated the scene with an aerial shot from his brother's 9mm pistol that he usually used to carry too, since both the eye witness and lashari along with guards were sitting outside the premises waiting for Abro. Right after the first shot Abro's guard retaliated and started shooting as a result he got shot and rushed inside the gate, NO HE WAS NOT STUDYING IN HIS BALCONY THATS A BLATANT LIE, with him rushed the eye witness inside too. Lashari crashed on the car porche while his guards kept shooting at the vigo from the main gate while the brother aimed from the rooftop with his 12 bore. Lashari insisted the eye witness to take him to hospital but the eye witness refused saying his driver left with the car, lashari then took out his own car keys from the pocket and asked his friend again but he refused saying he cant afford to be a part of a police case by bringing him to hospital, Lasharis mother witnessed this scene too and kept crying seeing her soon bleeding profusely .. Some more minutes passed and they witnessed Lashari's last seeing him blow his signature flying kiss to his mother.. The eye witness happens to be the only son of a political and an influential sindhi family and has close family relationships with Lashari's too. Keeping in mind their terms with the political family and knowing the eye witnesses statements will change the course of the case they didn't even mention his name in the F.I.R. The authorities should check for the call records of Abro and Lashari and take the eye witness in for a physical remand so as to know what really happened. The eye witnesse's name is Shahnawaz Shah son of Waheeda Shah.

The judiciary has been giving bold decisions but the problem is with the implementation. Not a single death sentence convict had been executed. during the past eight years or so. Aroun 8,000 are awaiting executions. So every one is sure to get away unpunished after a few years or may escape even earlier in a jail break. In this particular case the father should also get appropriate punishment along with the son, who according to the latest reports has been identified as murdourer.p
