Truck hits bike, kills woman, injures sons

MIRPURKHAS/KUNRI:

A woman was killed and two others injured when a mid-sized truck collided with a motorcycle near the Mirpurkhas toll plaza.

The motorcycle riders — a mother and her two sons from Ahmed Khan Laghari village — were severely injured in the crash. Toll plaza staff rescued the victims and shifted them to Civil Hospital Mirpurkhas. Zarina later succumbed to her wounds. Meanwhile, Old Police Station officials arrested the truck driver and impounded the vehicle involved in the accident.

Nine injured in school van collision

At least nine people, including schoolchildren and a van driver, were injured in a road accident near Kunri on the Thar-Nabisar Highway. The driver, in critical condition, was shifted to Hyderabad, while the children were reported to be out of danger.

The high-roof school van collided with a passenger van near the village of Meo Khan Khosa. The school van driver, Bhimo Bhil, and seven children sustained injuries. Witnesses said the accident occurred when the passenger van's tyre got burst while trying to avoid a motorcyclist.
