Keeping clean: MWMC to fix waste management

A tracker system would also be installed in the company’s vehicles to monitor their movement during waste collection.

MULTAN:
The Multan Waste Management Company (MWMC) plans to introduce a strict monitoring system to enhance efficiency, Dr Alamgir Akhtar, the company’s managing director, said on Friday. Akhtar said the MWMC would soon launch an electronic attendance system to ensure transparent monitoring and presence of workers at their duty sites. He said the management was focussing on improving the company’s infrastructure and would add more containers and vehicles for efficient waste collection. He said the MWMC would ensure cleanliness in the10 most populous union councils of the district and engage more sanitary workers after a ground assessment. A tracker system would also be installed in the company’s vehicles to monitor their movement during waste collection. Akhtar requested citizens to dump waste at the designated sites only. He said the company had a new set-up and hoped that the citizens would soon notice a pleasant change in Multan.
