Interior Minister reviews security arrangements for May 11 rally
Walk-through gates, sniffing dogs and CCTV cameras would be employed to provide security to the rally participants

ISLAMABAD:
Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Friday reviewed security arrangements for May 11 rally at D-Chowk.
Chairing a high-level meeting of Islamabad and Rawalpindi administration officials, he said that walk-through gates, sniffing dogs and CCTV cameras would be employed to provide security at the rally.
Rawalpindi Commissioner, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad and other senior officials briefed the minister informing him about the deployment of security personnel, traffic diversion plans and arrangements for the media.
The Minister directed that all steps be taken to ensure complete security of the participants.
He added that no vehicles carrying weapons or infants in them would be allowed to enter designated rally area.
He also directed the Islamabad administration to ensure payments to the owners of containers that are to be used for the security of Red Zone.
He directed that instructions should be properly advertised to inform the general public about the road blockades and traffic diversions to facilitate the residents of the twin cities.
The Minister also asked for close coordination between Islamabad and Rawalpindi administration in this regard.
