Military completes field training of Strategic Command with successful Hatf III launch
'Ghaznavi' is capable of delivering nuclear and conventional warheads up to a distance of 290 kilometres.

The military announced on Thursday that it had successfully conducted a training launch of the of short range surface to surface ballistic missile Hatf III (Ghaznavi).
According to a press release issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the 'Ghaznavi' is capable of delivering nuclear and conventional warheads up to a distance of 290 kilometres.
The launch was culminating point of the Army Strategic Forces Command's field training exercise.
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif,Director General Strategic Plans Division, Lieutenant General Zubair Mahmood Hayat were among the senior officials that were in attendance.
While addressing the participating troops in the exercise, COAS General Raheel Sharif commended their efforts and reiterated the fact that Pakistan has configured “one of the best command and control systems.”
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and President Mamnoon Hussain also congratulated the troops.
Last month, another Ghaznavi missile was also successfully launched.
The launch was witnessed by the Chairperson Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (JCSC) General Rashad Mahmood, Director General Strategic Plans Division Lieutenant General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, Commander Army Strategic Forces Command Lieutenant General Obaid Ullah Khan, Chairperson NESCOM Muhammad Irfan Burney and other senior military officials and scientists.
