Poll rigging: Ex-top judge rejects PTI claims
PTI chief openly lashed out at the former CJ, accusing him of involvement in alleged rigging during the 2013 polls.

Former chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on Tuesday rejected rigging allegations levelled against him by Pakistan Tehreeak-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, terming them ‘baseless and absurd’.
Chaudhry said Constitution has defined the roles of every institution in the country and the judiciary is an important organ of the state. He also said that democracy has strengthened in the country and there is no threat to it.

Former chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on Tuesday rejected rigging allegations levelled against him by Pakistan Tehreeak-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, terming them ‘baseless and absurd’.
Speaking to media after addressing the Islamabad High Court Bar, Chaudhry said that the returning officers (ROs) were appointed by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and not by the Supreme Court. However, he did not comment further over the issue.
Last week, the PTI chief openly lashed out at the former chief justice (CJ), accusing him of involvement in the alleged rigging during the 2013 polls.
