Shot dead: Youth kills father over land dispute

The young man wanted to inherit a couple of acres but his father was unwilling to hand over the property.

The police detained Khoso, his mother and a maternal uncle on Tuesday.

A young man allegedly killed his father and buried him in the courtyard of his house.



The incident took place in Husri town’s Hyder Khoso village, according to the police. Urs Khoso, 20, reported to the police around two weeks ago that his father, Muhammad Anwar Khoso, had been kidnapped. “We tried to trace the missing person with the help of his cellphone number but found out that the number was being used by the complainant,” said DSP Husri Dost Muhammad Mangrio.


The police then detained Khoso, his mother and a maternal uncle on Tuesday. The police sources also claimed that the boy has confessed to having killed his father. The young man wanted to inherit a couple of acres but his father was unwilling to hand over the property.


Husri police station SHO, Shabbir Jamali, said that an FIR has yet to be lodged. DSP Mangrio will submit an application in the court on Wednesday to exhume the body in the presence of a judicial magistrate.
