Casa-1000 project: Pakistan, Afghanistan to resolve tariff issues

Pakistan and Afghanistan have expressed their commitment to resolving the tariff issues related to the Central Asia-South Asia-1000 (CASA-1000) power supply project.
The commitment was made during a meeting on Tuesday between Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Afghanistan’s Deputy Minister of Finance Mustafa Mastoor on the sidelines of the 47th annual meeting of the board of governors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Astana, Kazakhstan.
Dar highlighted the importance of the project for regional integration, which he said would also strengthen bilateral relations.
He also congratulated the Afghan government on holding successful and peaceful presidential elections.
The finance minister also held a meeting with China Development Bank Assistant Governor Xiaoyu Zhao.
