Illegal detention case: Contempt notice given to Saddar SHO
The court issued a contempt of court notice to the SHO and directed him to appear before the court.

A district and sessions court issued on Monday a contempt of court notice to the Saddar police station SHO in a case pertaining to unlawful detention. The judge had directed the SHO to record the statement of the applicant and subsequently lodge a case against the SIU officials in a habeas corpus case. On Monday, applicant Muhammad Ali Channa informed the court through his lawyer that the SHO has yet to register the case. The court issued a contempt of court notice to the SHO and directed him to appear before the court and submit his reply on May 7. Earlier, Channa had filed a habeas corpus application, stating that the police picked up his son in-law, Naeem Butt, from the airport when he had arrived from Malaysia on April 25 and kept them in illegal custody. He had requested the court for his recovery.
