JAMRUD: Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) Education Department suspended services of 15 teachers and terminated five others.

Agency Education Officer Attiqur Rehman, while talking to journalists on Saturday, said that recently they had taken action against 77 teachers of public schools for negligence in their responsibilities.

Increments and salaries of some teachers were also halted for two-three months. Rehman mentioned most of the teachers remained absent from their duties, doing other jobs elsewhere.

He pointed out some of them even hired alternate teachers at their place in the school to secure the job. However, All Teachers Association Khyber Agency President Gulab Din Afridi claimed that the teachers who were terminated by the department were not known to him. He disapproved cutting down salaries of teachers.
