Insurgency: Security forces escape landmine blast

QUETTA:
A convoy of security forces escaped a landmine blast in Naag area of Washuk district on Friday.

The convoy of security forces comprising 25 vehicles was going to Panjgur from Washuk when one of the vehicles narrowly escaped the landmine explosion.

The vehicle was partially damaged but no one was hurt in the attack.

The convoy stayed there briefly and left for its destination after the clearance of Bomb Disposal Squad.

No group had claimed responsibility for the blast till the filing of this report.


Separately, unidentified assailants opened fire at a police mobile on patrol in Hub town and fled. No one was hurt in the attack.

Meanwhile, an improvised explosive device (IED) planted along the outer wall of Panhwar Sinari Police Station in Jaffarabad district was defused by police.

According to DPO Jaffarabad Syed Ashfaq Anwer a policeman spotted a suspicious bag and informed his colleagues.

They defused the bomb, he said.

Bomb disposal squad official said the IED was packed with around 9 kg of explosives.
