Charges Of Misconduct: Policeman suspended for ‘land grabbing’

KARACHI:
The Gulshan-e-Maymar SHO, Mir Samad, was demoted and suspended over allegations of land grabbing and unprofessionalism.

Police officials said that an inquiry has been ordered against him and further action will be taken against him after the inquiry.

Gulshan-e-Maymar police had booked and arrested 10 children, along with their families, and accused them of extending life threats, disrupting law and order and obstructing public servants in discharging official duties. The judicial magistrate, before whom the families had been presented, had ordered their immediate release and directed the respective DIGs to take action against the SHO. Meanwhile, the families had alleged that a few builders in the area had used the police to force them to evict the land.
