Crime: Man killed; three nabbed

The nabbed persons were allegedly planning a robbery.

ISLAMABAD: A man was killed in a hit-and-run accident on Park Road, the police said on Wednesday.

Shabbir Ahmed lodged a report with the local police that his cousin, Mohin, was riding on the road when a speeding taxi (RIL-59) hit him and sped away. He was taken to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences where he was pronounced dead.

Meanwhile, the same police raided a robbers’ hideout at Faizabad Bus Stop and arrested Khushal Khan, Nasir Khan and Shakeel along with weapons and ammunition.

The nabbed persons were allegedly planning a robbery.  However, two of their accomplices, identified as Tariq and Izatullah managed to flee. Separate cases have been registered under the relevant laws.
