Books galore: Capital’s first-ever TLF kicks off today
Children Literature Festival part of three-day festivity.
The federal capital would be celebrating its first ever “Teachers’ Literature Festival’ (TLF) on Thursday at the Federal College of Education (FCE) in Sector H-9, featuring different interactive sessions with many renowned national and international experts and the literati.
The festival is being organised by the Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi and the Oxford University Press (OUP) in collaboration with the Open Society Foundation and the FCE.
Along with the TLF, the Children Literature Festival (CLF) would also be held on May 2 and May 3 at the same venue. The three-day literature festival will feature interactive sessions and activities including talks, interviews, discussions, workshops, book fair, puppet show, competitions, food stalls and many others.
Many national and international writers, poets, intellectuals, performers and journalists including Hassena Moin, Chintan Girish Modi, Kishwar Naheed, Arfa Syeda Zehra, Fahmida Riaz, Farooq Qaiser, Rumana Husain, Ameena Saiyid, Saman Shamsie, Bushra Shahab, Fauzia Minallah, Baela Raza Jamil, Asif Farrukhi, Adeel Hashmi, Khaled Anum, Zobaida Jalal, Nargis Sultana, Nadine Murtaza, Samar Minallah, Taimur Rehman and others would spend their time with children, parents and their teachers.
Different interactive sessions including “Art of Reading with Expression”, “Understanding Faiz Ahmed Faiz”, “Understanding Ghalib”, “Teachers’ Voices”, “Nurturing Creativity in Children”, “Protecting Our Culture”, “Literature and Language”, “Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah (Tasveeri Kahani)”, “Heer Ranjha”, “Multi Sensory Stalls”, “Food Court”, “Technology in the Classroom”, “Book Stalls”, “Bacha Bawarchi” etc are part of the TLF.
