IPL’s Kings XI Punjab to move to court as well
Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) axing continues to spark High Court cases.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) axing fiasco continued as yet another Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kings XI Punjab plan to move to court against the decision to terminate their contract.
“Yes, we’ll be going to court,” said the team’s co-owner Preity Zinta. The BCCI, on October 10, decided to terminate the franchise agreements of Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals citing breach of agreement by them. The Kings XI Punjab management had earlier termed the decision as “unfair”.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals’ petition against the decision to terminate its contract will now come up in the court next month. Although the case was listed for hearing yesterday, both parties sought adjournment for later next month, revealed a team spokesman.
