ISLAMABAD: The special court on Monday allowed former president Pervez Musharraf’s counsel Farogh Naseem to withdraw a plea related to Section 6 of the Special Court Act of 1976 in the ongoing treason case.

A three-judge bench, headed by Justice Faisal Arab, was hearing the case against the former military dictator. Justice Arab said that Anwar Mansoor, who represented Musharraf earlier, had spent half an hour contending over the application that Naseem now wanted to withdraw.

Naseem argued that Musharraf wanted to withdraw the written application submitted in relation to Section 6-A of the Special Court Act of 1976 and wanted to present his reservations orally in this regard.
