Planning ahead: Sindh govt to soon get rid of encroachments, says Sharjeel Memon
Remaining part of the Lyari Expressway to be completed.
KARACHI:
Sindh Information Minister Sarjeel Inam Memon said on Sunday that there was a mafia in the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) involved in the provision of illegal connections due to which parts of the city faced water shortage.
Talking to the media after inaugurating Family Park in Clifton, Block III, he said that land mafia had grabbed many sport grounds and parks in the city, hence, all encroachments in the city would soon be removed and development projects would be initiated instead.
Removing encroachments is the biggest challenge for Karachi Circular Railway (KCR), but the federal government had assured full support for its completion.
Responding to a question regarding Pakistan Steel Mills, he said that Pakistan Peoples Party would not allow anyone to make the workers jobless but those who received salaries should work so that the mill could be pulled out of the crisis.
He said that the remaining part of Lyari Expressway would be completed soon.
