HARIPUR: The 110th annual Jashn-e-Hazara festival continued to entertain people from various parts of Hazara for the second day on Friday. Arranged by the district administration every year during April, the festival celebrates the onset of the wheat harvesting season and attracts hundreds of farmers and visitors who are entertained by players in various competitions. On the second day, different teams presented skillful competitions in tug of war, physical training, theatre performances by students and stone lifting, among several other local sports. In the evening, bodybuilding, weightlifting, volleyball, kabadi, badminton, speech and Naat competitions were held. A meena bazaar was also arranged for the entertainment of women where clothes with local embroidery were showcased. According to the organisers, the festival is expected to attract over 100,000 visitors in the four days as security and other arrangements have encouraged citizens to throng the venue in higher numbers compared to previous years.
