Provincial assembly passes resolution against Abid Sher Ali for his Sindh comments

Minister of State for Water and Power had allegedly said that the people of Sindh are electricity thieves.

KARACHI: A resolution was unanimously passed in the Sindh Assembly against Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali on Friday, Express News reported.

The resolution was presented by Sindh Education Minister Nisar Ahmed Khuhro who said that Ali should take his remarks regarding the people of Sindh back. Ali had allegedly said that the people of Sindh were electricity thieves.

Condemning the statement by the minister, Khuhro demanded that Ali should apologise to the people of Sindh for his remarks.

None of the PML-N representatives in the provincial assembly objected to the resolution.

Sindh Minister for Information and Local Government Sharjeel Inam Memon also spoke against Abid, stating that he should not have used such language.
