Cutting complaints: FDE to constitute admissions cell
DG Rafique Tahir says parents preferred 19 model colleges while refusing to go for 11 federal govt colleges.
ISLAMABAD:
The acting director general (DG) of the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) on Tuesday dispelled the notion that after the abolishment of evening shifts in model colleges, morning-shift institutes were not taking new admissions for grade one through 10. DG Rafique Tahir said that parents preferred the 19 model colleges while refusing to go for the 11 federal government colleges. He announced that an admission cell has been constituted at the directorate to facilitate queries related to admissions. “The cell will work from 8am to 5pm,” he remarked. He said they were preparing to construct three-storey buildings at model colleges to cater to the heavy influx of students and minimise the huge number of students in each class.
