Religion of peace: Extremists do not speak for Islam, says Fazl

Chief of JUI-F addresses a gathering in Wakefield Islamic Centre, West Yorkshire, UK.

PESHAWAR:
A tiny number of extremists do not speak for Islam. Islam is a religion of moderation and peace and should not be equated with terrorism and militancy. The chief of JUI-F Maulana Fazlur Rahman said this while addressing a gathering in Wakefield Islamic Centre, West Yorkshire, UK, according to a press release. Unfortunately, impression has been created that Islam is a religion of violence and it does not believe in coexistence. “This is a wrong impression so should be discarded and all moderate and progressive religious forces should work hard for speaking up for the silent majority who are following moderation and have never resorted to violence”, he added.
