HARIPUR:
Two unidentified men stole cash and valuables worth thousands of rupees in a village of Baka, Haripur, shared the police on Sunday.
According to a policeman, Muhammad Ilyas Khan of Mohallah Ali Masjid said he was home with his family when two unidentified men wearing masks barged into his house and robbed them at gunpoint. After locking the family members in a room, the bandits made off with jewellery weighing 10 tolas of gold, two mobile sets and Rs15,000 in cash.
Meanwhile, a teenage girl attempted suicide in Garr Sera-e-Saleh village but survived.
Her father, Akram Khan*, told the police his 19-year-old daughter was given the task of making lunch but she was busy talking to someone on her cell phone. After he scolded her, she ran to her room, locked the door and hanged herself.
After hearing unusual sounds, Akram broke down the door. She was taken to Ayub Medical Complex due to her critical condition.
